BloodyDisgusting is reporting that Screen Gems is moving forward with Resident Evil 5 which will be officially titled
Resident Evil: Begins. The reboot/prequel will center on Jill Valentine played by Sienna Guillory as Raccoon City is slowly overrun with a T-Virus outbreak caused by Umbrella. Milla Jovovich will still be in the film but as a supporting character. It's possible the film will be horror focused and have more of serious/grounded tone than previous films. They've set the release date for September 14th 2012 but have yet to announce a director. It's expected that Paul W.S. Anderson will be involved either writing the film's script or just keeping the regular duties as producer.
